AS THE HEARSES ROLL...

NEWTOWN: A CRY IN ITS SOUL AS THE HEARSES ROLL

"A chief event of life is that day on which we have encountered a mind that startled us." --RALPH WALDO EMERSON
__________

Has Adam Lanza startled us?

I think that it's time to ask that question.

Have we all been shaken out of complacency...perhaps for the rest of  our
lives?

Is it "just another day in Paradise" or is it now a big, bad "jungle out there?"

NBC NEWS: SCANNER RECORDINGS

Are we walking away from those who died in Newtown, with a promise of a better day or with a broken prayer?

CBS NEWS: PRESIDENT OBAMA CREATES ANTI-GUN VIOLENCE TASK FORCE

Do we believe that God is still blessing America or is burying all of those bodies beginning to break that Holy bond?

Like a song once asked: "Do they know it's Christmas time at all?"

How will those folks in Newtown, Connecticut relate to the birth of Baby Jesus...now that their own
children are gone?

And will the families and friends, of the adult victims, ever believe in Christmas miracles, again?

"How do we  say 'goodbye'
Now that our children have learned to die
As Christmas stars cry in the sky...
Oh God, how do we say goodbye?

There are names in the newspapers
There are candles on the side of the road
There are precious images frozen forever...
Oh, how will we let them go?

I keep asking, again and again
As we bury our babies and our friends
Oh God, when will it be Christmas, again?

Slow down, all you angels , now free
Please don't you fly too fast
I want to make the memories
Of when you were with me...last

How will we say 'goodbye'
Now that those we love have been taken above
While the Christmas stars cry...
Oh, God...give us the strength to try."
