It is in the mid-forties here today in Baker City, Oregon. Small patches of snow, like frosted
afterthoughts, dot the landscape here and there. But it is partly sunny and the window is open in my room today. I even ran the ceiling fan for awhile this morning.
Winter is almost dormant here in the Pacific Northwest.
But not out in the Northeast!
People are gearing up (or hunkering down, as the case may be) in anticipation of Winter Storm
Juno. In some areas, local media sources are predicting high winds and record-breaking snowfall.
The National Weather Service is making no bones about it: Someone between Indiana and Penn-
Sylvania, West Virginia and Washington DC and/or New York and Maine is going to get spanked
by Old Man Winter.
I will monitor this storm and post updates here.
